When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. Time-lapse photography can be considered to be the opposite of high speed photography.”

This is a commercial site with over 400 high definition time lapse photographs. Not all are viewable, but enough of them to make the site a lot of fun to look at. Time lapse is a very common technique used in television commercials and less so in movies to represent the passage of time. The technique allows us to see certain things that we couldn’t otherwise, such as the growth of a plant. While it’s a very simple process, the result is in many ways profound.
